We just bought a house that has a septic system. A septic system collects plumbing waste in special tanks where it is broken down by microbes and then released into a drain field where it is absorbed into the ground. Putting the wrong things down the drain can kill the microbes that keep a septic system running smoothly as well as contaminate the surrounding environment.
“Green” cleaning might have been optional before (sort of), but now it’s required. I will need to learn an entirely different way of cleaning to replace the way taught to us by our mainstream media. I thought perhaps that I might as well pass on what I learn to others. The methods shared here are not just for those living with septic tanks. These methods can help those with community sewer systems reduce their environmental impact as well.
At some point, I may cover gardening topics as well.
